The final show on the South Island was both amazing and sad. Amazing because the crowd was great, super responsive, lots of people, and the venue's owner - Peter Schoni - treated us like gold. There were even three different groups of people that had seen us on previous nights and came back to see us again! Thanks so much to all of them!
But it was also very sad because it would be the last time I'd play with the amazing musicians I met from Christchurch. Catherine Wells on piano, Chris Wethey on bass, Jesse Hughes on drums and George Cook on sax. Getting to know them, hanging out and playing together was so great and I couldn't have asked for it to go any better. Thanks soooo much to the four of you (and also to the fifth honourary member, Emma, who helped a tonne too). I'll miss you guys and look forward to seeing you next year!!! :-)
Now I'm off to the North Island to do it all over again - meet new musicians and play some more exciting shows.
